by Elder Chris McCool, Pastor (preached on August 4, 2024)

As we come to the conclusion of our series on the book of Hebrews, the writer reminds us of some blessings that we have in the church Kingdom. We have been looking at the spiritual leadership God has provided through His called ministry. We continue with the spiritual worship that we engage in on a constant basis. And finally, the writer leaves us with the most important and comprehensive spiritual benediction that he could give us: “Grace be with you all. Amen.”

  • The Book of Hebrews, Part 72: Spiritual Blessings in the Church – Spiritual Leadership (Heb. 13:7-25)

by Elder Chris McCool, Pastor (preached on August 4, 2024)

As we reach the end of the Book of Hebrews, we are focusing on some spiritual blessings that we have in the church. We have discussed the blessing of spiritual fellowship, and today we consider the blessing of spiritual worship. God has given us pastors and preachers to lead us in our public worship, and we ought to submit to them when they lead us from God’s word. Join us as we examine the spiritual blessing of God-called leadership in the church.

  • The Book of Hebrews, Part 71: Spiritual Blessings in the Church: Spiritual Fellowship II (Heb. 13:1-6)

by Elder Chris McCool, Pastor (preached on July 21, 2024)

As we began to see yesterday, chapter 13 takes us from “doctrine” to “duty”. In this last chapter of Hebrews, the writer reminds us of spiritual blessings that we have in the Church, and exhorts us to work to achieve those blessings. One of the first blessings – and duties – is engaging in fellowship within the church. Our fellowship in the Kingdom of God is spiritual fellowship, unlike anything we could ever find in the world!

  • “No Man”, Part 2 (John 5:1-9)

by Elder John Morgan Owens (preached on July 14, 2024)

In the first half of this message, we began to see the recurrence of the phrase “no man” in Scripture. What can we do when there is “no man” to help? The man laying at the Pool of Bethesda experienced this sense of helplessness; yet he encountered THE Man among men! Elsewhere we learn that “no man” can help in the job of eternal redemption; join us for the conclusion of this sermon about how Christ is the only Man who is always our helper, in eternal redemption and in every circumstance of life.

  • “No Man”, Part 1 (John 5:1-9)

by Elder John Morgan Owens (preached on July 14, 2024)

As Jesus came to the Pool of Bethesda, He found a certain man lying there with a decades-old affliction. When asked, the man responded, “Sir, I have no man” to help me into the pool. The phrase “no man” occurs several times in Scripture; join us today as Elder John Morgan Owens begins to teach us several biblical lessons about how we should look to no man on earth, but rather, we need to look to THE Man, Jesus Christ Himself.

  • Conies (Prov. 30:26)

by Elder David Crawford (preached on May 6, 2012)

Several years ago, we had Elder David Crawford come and preach for us here at Zion on a Sunday night. He preached a glorious message from Proverbs about “conies.” Conies are a “feeble folk”, we are told, but they wisely make their homes in the rocks where they find safety. Does not this remind us of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ? We indeed are feeble folk, but when we abide in the Rock of Ages, we are safe and can be strong! Join us for this encouraging message about the feeble conies.

In the second half of this sermon, preached by Elder Chase Harrison recently at Zion Church, we learn that not only did God the Father give the Son a Kingdom, but that Christ then gave the Kingdom to us. Join us for the conclusion of this powerful sermon on the Kingdom of God.
