~ Soul: it is the mind, will, emotions and conscience of the man. When you’re hurt you feel it in the soul.

~ Spirit: our Spirit does not feel. Your Spirit is your real person. The most important part of us. 2Cor 5:17. There’s no direct correlation between the Spirit and the flesh

How to walk in the Spirit

John 6:63. The only way to accurately perceive Spiritual truth is by the word of God. The true test of our faith comes in doing the word.

James 5:19, 1:21

Upon salvation what gets renewed is the Spirit of the man the Spirit becomes perfect

When God sees me he sees a new creation.

When we got saved only our Spirit got saved not the soul or body.

3 fold cord- covenant- Marriage is built on covenant.

Leave- sense of priority changes your spouse become no 1 in your life

Covenant is not based on emotions, feelings but conviction

3 cords of love

~ Agape love- I love you irrespective of what you do, how you behave, regardless of the circumstances, this is the love of God

Unbelievers are incapable of Agape love Rom 3:

The Holy Spirit is the custodian of Agape love.

~ Phileo love- the friendship kind of love.

Love is a command you must love people.

Agape keeps the marriage, phileo sustains the marriage.

Eros love- romantic love preserved for marriage. Eros should only be in marriage. 1Cor 7:1-5

Agape brigs stability, phileo builds intimacy and Eros brings the heat.

Characteristics of Agape love

It is unconditional

It is sacrificial

It is forgiving 1Cor 13:5-7, Eph 5:25-26

After salvation the next most important decision is who you marry.

~ prefer Godly singleness over unwise marriage. Marriage is God’s design but don’t worry anyhow. Gal 6:16. If you walk in the Spirit it would be difficult to marry wrong

Marry someone who loves God more than they love you

Following the principles of marriage is more important than God telling you who to marry

Don’t marry hoping you’ll change the person. Only the Holy Spirit changes.

What you can’t manage in a relationship don’t manage in marriage

Marry only a genuine believer.

Marry a potential best friend

Physical beauty will fade

Marry someone you share the same values with

Marry someone with Godly character and appetite for righteousness

How long should you date before engagement? Long enough to observe character and know who you’re getting married to but not long enough to have premarital sexual relationships

When the scripture says my thy people shall be willing in the days of his power, he is

not speaking about one day. He is speaking about an era. He is saying in the era in

which Christ is exalted and he rules. In the era in which Christ is exalted and he rules,

he is going to exact dominion on the face of the earth through the Holy Spirit

bringing to himself willing people, sanctified people regardless of opposition

because there will be opposition.

Eph 1:20- which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated

Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.

The days of his power is the era in which Christ rose and he exacts his dominion upon

the face of the earth through the power of the Holy Ghost and he brings sanctified

men to himself despite opposition.

Relational discernment- ability to discern if a relationship is good for you or not.

Discerning character- be conscious of patterns abs no promises. Patterns reveal character. Because you love someone doesn’t mean you give them all access to your life. How to discern character when their words don’t match their actions. Logic has a very high factor to play and we shouldn’t downgrade it. Ways to discern do behaviors align in public and private.

Discerning compatibility- not every good person or comparable helper is the right person for you. Compatibility has to be with alignment of clauses and calling. Do they bring out the best in you, allow you to be authentic, respect your boundaries

Boundaries are the limits we set to protect our emotional, mental, physical and spiritual
