Pastor Josh Rhone speaks on October 2, 2022, at Zion Church, a United Methodist congregation, in York, Pennsylvania. This weekend Pastor Josh preaches from Luke 17.5-10, a passage in which Jesus' disciples come to him and ask that he "increase [their] faith." It was a request that made sense. A request rooted, quite possibly, in their circumstances. Quite possibly, we, too, have reason to request increased faith. It could be health worries, concerns stemming from the news, economic frustrations –– whatever it is, each of us have a reason (or two or three) as to why we want and/or need our faith to increase. Yet, today, Jesus reminds us that only a small amount of faith is needed. A little bit of faith will do. This is comforting to those who are worn out. This is good news to those who are exasperated.
