Chris is back to head the Film Club, and today he's set the week's theme as 'Scientists/Mathematicians'. Starting us off, today Chris looks at 'Hidden Figures'. Directed by Theodore Melfi, this drama looks at three African-American women who worked at NASA in the 1960s, during the Great Space Race. Stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monae, Kevin Costner, Jim Parsons, Kirsten Dunst and Mahershala Ali.

Next on this week of Scientist and Mathematician films, Chris looks at 'The Theory of Everything'. Directed by James Marsh and based on a book by Jane Wilde Hawking, it tells the story of Stephen and Jane meeting, falling in love, Stephen being diagnosed with ALS, and becoming a success in physics. Starring Eddie Redmayne (in an Oscar-winning role), Felicity Jones, Charlie Cox and Emily Watson.  

Concluding this week's Film Club of Scientists and Mathematicians, today we look at 'The Imitation Game'. Directed by Morten Tyldum, the film tells the story of Alan Turing, and his efforts to crack the Enigma at Bletchley Park, and then his horrific treatment at the hands of the state after the war. Stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Rory Kinnear, and Charles Dance.

After a brief break for the bank holiday, the Film Club is back! Under the direction of Charlotte, this week we focus on 'the works of Leonardo DiCaprio'. We start with James Cameron's "Titanic" the epic, action-packed romance set on the tragic ship. DiCaprio stars as a gentlemanly but poor artist aboard the luxurious cruiser, who falls in love with a seventeen-year-old aristocrat (Kate Winslet).  One of the best-selling films of all time, Titanic won 11 oscars.

Charlotte's Film Club continues to follow Leonardo DiCaprio's career with Christopher Nolan's 2010 mind-bending thriller 'Inception'. Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Wantanabe, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy and many more star. This intelligent blockbuster sees Leo and his team of espionage specialists going into peoples dreams to plant ideas.

Charlotte concludes a week of Leonardo DiCaprio films with 'Revolutionary Road'. Set during the 1950s, the film looks at how a young couple living in a Connecticut suburb struggle to come to terms with their personal problems, while trying to raise their two children. When the pair decide to rebel against the monotony of their lives, they plan an escape that may push them to their limits. Directed by Sam Mendes, Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio star.

Simon - who is the current owner of Garth, the world's largest teacup pig - was in the studio spreading his unique brand of disjointed and confusing film criticism. Danny, Sam and Chris were also present, but as Chris has had a very long week and was very tired, if Simon did anything particularly wacky, it probably went unnoticed. Chris promises to get some sleep and be more aware of Simon's antics next time.
