[Formerly titled "The Tale of Torture in the Desert"].  On October 1, 2012, a marijuana dispensary owner, who we will call John D, and his roommate Mary, we abducted by 3 masked intruders from their Newport Beach home and driven out to the Mojave Desert where it was believed John D was hiding a secret stash of money, buried someplace in the desert.  Hear the details of their harrowing experience, and how far these three men would go in order to force John D into disclosing the location of his hidden money.  Hossein Nayeri, Ryan Kevorkian, and  Kyle Handley all conspired to pull off the kidnapping.  

UPDATE: Naomi Rhodus was the final defendant convicted in the case.  She pleaded guilty to accessory in the kidnapping in 2022 and was sentenced to 3 years of probation
