Former El Dorado County Dispatcher Deborah Green recalls running police radio the night of the line of duty death of Deputy Brian Ishmael in 2019. She talks learning of his murder during a call for service and staying at her post for several more hours, and only when relieved being able to grieve. A night of trauma led to an onslaught of attrition in the devastated department, and Green a year later was the only one still on staff from that fateful night.
