The suspect, Elijah Hemingway, was arrested and charged in connection with the attack. So why do some details make the first headline while other important facts emerge days later?

Is it simply the nature of breaking news? Are news organizations waiting for verified information? Or does the way a story is presented sometimes leave viewers with an incomplete picture?

Meanwhile, Washington and Tehran obviously have a slightly different version of how we got here.

🇺🇸 JEN PSAKI'S 2021 PROMISE: We revisit Psaki's famous statement during the Afghanistan evacuation that she could “absolutely assure” Americans that nobody was entering the U.S. without thorough screening and background checks. The statement has resurfaced amid later controversy over the vetting of Afghan evacuees. We'll look at what she actually said—and what the subsequent debate has been about.

👩‍⚖️ OBAMA'S BIG EXPERIMENT: Barack Obama is once again talking about his hypothetical world where women run every government for a couple of years—and he says things would be better. So naturally, we're asking the important questions: What could possibly go wrong? And who gets stuck being the Secretary of Beer and Sports? 😂 Obama has made a similar argument before, including in 2019.
