#10 "Parenting Our Queer Children With Courage and Curiosity " with Dr. Tarryn MacCarthy

Listen Later

Dr. Tarryn MacCarthy is a mom to 3 queer kids, an orthodontist, a happiness mindset coach, podcast host, and visionary. She eloquently and vulnerably shares her journey of raising and advocating for her queer children.

Just in time for the holiday season, we talk about navigating coming out and conversations about sexuality and gender with extended family, teachers, therapists, friends, partners and ourselves. Encouraging open conversations about sex, sexuality, and gender, we share  tips to bringing up issues of queerness on a daily basis with curiosity, rather than shame or fear. Tarryn explores her own past subtle internalized transphobia and how her trans daughter inspired her to see the wholeness and uniqueness of every human.

Tarryn beams with pride as she shares that her children have been her greatest teachers and that there is no one way liberation. As our children continue to bravely step into their truth, we can boldly and bravely steps into our own.
