In this week's podcast, I am resharing my list of books that have made such an impact on me that I return to them over and over again. Fair Play gave me the language to work with my partner on making sure we were both taking responsibility for our house and child.
We'd set out to have an equitable relationship, and even we fell into some gendered defaults. I love this book so much that I have added Fair Play Facilitator to my professional offerings.
I hope you will give it a listen and share with me what books have made such an impression on you that you return to them over and over again.

How is your summer going? Are you enjoying the Summer of Intentionality? I hope so.
I have heard from some folks that they love having a framework to make the season special even when they have a full-time non-academic job. Knowing how you want to spend your time on the longer days gives them a purpose, and that feels good.
If you haven't started yours yet, it isn't too late! Modify the SOI and make it yours. Maybe make a short book list, a couple of can't-miss food items and a friend Friday list and get those things booked into your schedule.
In this week's podcast, I am re-sharing my list of books that changed how I live my life. I hope you will give it a listen and share with me what you want to read this summer.

What are some of your summer rituals? We celebrate the last day of school with shave ice and breakfast out on the patio at Tower Cafe on the first day of summer break.
We get together with my dad for Father's Day and leave my husband at home so he can enjoy his most treasured Father's Day present, alone time. We sign up for the summer reading program, we visit Humboldt County and we set learning goals.
Our summers are an amazing season because we follow The Summer of Intentionality. Curious?
Check out this week's podcast. I am re-sharing the Summer of Intentionality episode, where I explain the history and purpose of this remarkable tool.
I hope you will give it a listen and share with me what you want to do, read and learn this summer.

This week on the podcast, I am talking to Tracy Stanger. Tracy is an anti-hustle coach who helps moms balance work and motherhood. She helps moms determine what is most important and how to do it best.
In our chat Tracy and I talked about how she learned how to do it all from her restaurateur dad and how to use her skills best to help women grow their businesses. Tracy focuses on her self-care to thrive in her life and business. We talk a lot about what you don't do is just as important as what you do.

Happy Summer Solstice! It is the perfect time of year to let go of what isn't working and set new intentions for the future.
How would the rest of 2023 feel if you prioritized sleep this summer? How would you feel if you prioritized moving your body? What would shift in your life if your family took on a lot more responsibilities around the house? What would you do with your free time?
Something to think about, right?
I ask myself these kinds of questions all the time. My belief is the deeper my self-knowledge, the deeper the life. One of my areas of interest is personal finance. People, especially women, tell themselves stories about money and many of our money issues can be traced back to childhood.
This week on the podcast, I am talking to Jill Sirianni, co-host of the Frugal Friends podcast. In our chat Jill and I talked about how she went from being in debt to now working in personal finance. She spoke about how related personal finance and self-care are because both rely so much on shifting our mindset.
I hope you will give it a listen.

This week on the podcast I am talking to Lisa Li, founder of The Qi - a botanical tea company dedicated to holistic wellness. In our chat Lisa and I talked about how she went from the fast paced fashion world to running an international tea company.
She experienced job burnout to founder burnout and how she is changing her self-care in order to thrive in her life and business. We talk a lot about how tiny pauses in your day - like with a cup of perfectly steeped tea - can help create a deeper sense of calm.

Who are you more likely to work with: someone who shares all their secrets or someone who keeps things behind a paywall?
An interesting question, right?
Through the process of going through my podcast archives, I am realizing how much good stuff I have shared over the years. The information I share is the same stuff I share with my clients. I don't keep the information a secret that will help listeners.
I share what I know with everyone and coach those who want to put all that information into their own lives.
This week on the podcast, I am sharing those self-care secrets and best practices.
I hope you will give it a listen.

A gift my podcast keeps giving me is the excuse to interview interesting women. No one is more interesting to this bookworm than authors.
Since 2019 I have interviewed more than a dozen authors and attribute my proximity to authors as one of the factors leading me to write my own book. If you can see it, you can be it.
This week on the podcast, I am reminiscing about some of my favorite authors and their books. Check out this week's episode Authors Who Rock.
I hope you will give it a listen.
