In 2 Peter 1:1–11, Peter seems to start with the end in mind. Before telling us what to pursue, he reminds us of what is already true...what Jesus has done for us and what God has already given us. It’s from that foundation of grace that we’re invited to participate in the divine nature and experience real transformation.

In this episode, we talk about the qualities that begin to take shape in us as God transforms our lives, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, affection for one another, and ultimately love. We also look at Peter’s warning about what happens when we forget what Jesus has already done for us and how that forgetfulness can actually hold us back from the life we were meant to live.

Transformation doesn’t begin with trying harder. It begins with remembering what is already true. And what starts with the grace of Jesus ultimately shows up in the way we love people.

Jesus had a way of teaching that invited people to think deeper. Through parables, metaphors, questions, and everyday images, he engaged the mind to uncover what was happening in the heart.

This week, we look at Matthew 6:19–34 and what Jesus’ teaching about treasure, trust, and worry reveals about what we truly believe. We also talk about what it means for faith to be “practical” - not simply giving us steps to follow or rewards to store up for ourselves, but shaping how we live out the values of God’s Kingdom in the here and now.

In Acts 1 and 2, Jesus prepares His followers for something far greater than the kingdom they expected. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus reconnects us to the Father, and through the Holy Spirit, He empowers us to live, grow, and carry His Kingdom together.

This week, we talk about the birth of the early church, the coming of the Holy Spirit, and what it means that Jesus is still the great connector, connecting us to God, to one another, and to a purpose bigger than ourselves.

Welcome Home is more than a sermon series, it's an invitation to step into a place where we're known, valued, and cared for.  

In this first episode, we unpack Luke 15 and Jesus' three parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son. Together, they reveal something far greater than lost things...they reveal the true heart of the Father.

Jesus tells these stories to two very different groups of people: those who knew they were far from God, and those who believed they already had Him figured out. Yet His invitation is the same for both. The Father's grace is available to everyone, and His desire is not only to welcome us home, but to shape our hearts to reflect His own.

Through the stories of Jesus welcoming the lost, the early church living in authentic community, Christ's example of humble service, and the Spirit's work of transformation, we'll discover what it means to truly find our place in God's family.

As we wrap up The Greater Story, we look at the remarkable journey of Nicodemus. A respected religious leader whose encounter with Jesus challenged everything he thought he knew. His story doesn't unfold in a single moment, but through a process that moves from the darkness of private questions, to the partial light of growing courage, and finally to a public and powerful declaration of faith.

In this episode, we explore the irony that "the teacher" of Israel had yet to grasp the foundational truth of what it means to be born again. Yet, in His grace, Jesus met Nicodemus right where he was. 

Ultimately, we can be reminded that God is never limited by our fears, our failures, or our shortcomings. He invites ordinary people into His greater story, and He faithfully transforms us as we learn to trust Him one step at a time.

In Acts 16, we meet a diverse group of people whose lives couldn't look more different: a successful businesswoman, a slave girl, a Roman jailer, and two missionaries sitting in a prison cell. Yet Jesus meets each of them right where they are, offering the same freedom in response to Him. 

In this episode of 100% Maybe, Jeff sits down with Cares Pastor Addie Middleton to explore how God often works through unexpected people, and difficult circumstances to accomplish something far greater than we can see in the moment. Even interrupted plans can (and often do) bring about God's greater story for others.

On this week's episode, we kick off a new series called 'The Greater Story.' 

We discuss the greater story God has been writing from the beginning, and the incredible invitation we have to find our place in it. Transformation begins with what God does in us, but it was never designed to end there. As God works through our faith, relationships, and obedience, we become links in a much greater chain, carrying His story into the lives of others.

But what happens when our own doubts or feelings of inadequacy cause us to disqualify ourselves? And what could God do through us if we simply trusted that, by His grace, there is a place for us in His story?

Why did God strike Uzzah? It's one of the most difficult and misunderstood moments in the Bible.

This week on 100% Maybe, we unpack the story of the Ark of the Covenant in 2 Samuel 6 (along with 1 Chronicles 13 & 15) and discover that this account isn't about an angry God looking for a reason to punish someone, it's about the holiness of God and what it means to approach Him rightly.

David's first attempt to move the Ark seemed practical and well-intentioned, but it wasn't God's way. After experiencing failure, David humbly returns to God's instructions, and everything changes. His story reminds us that success, leadership, and even good intentions can slowly pull our hearts away from dependence on God if we're not careful.

We also explore Psalm 24, where David lifts our eyes to the Creator and King of Glory. Understanding God's holiness doesn't push us away from Him; it produces awe, humility, worship, and ultimately draws us closer to the God who alone is worthy.

In this week's episode, we explore David's conversation with Saul in 1 Samuel 17 and the familiar words of Psalm 23. Before David ever stepped into the Valley of Elah, God had been shaping him in pastures and moments of quiet faithfulness. David learned to reflect on what God had done, remember who God had proven Himself to be, and allow those truths to shape how he faced present challenges.

What if we became people of reflection? People who regularly rehearse God's faithfulness, and recognize His hand in our own stories. David reminds us that our stories aren't ultimately about building our own platform or proving our strength, they're invitations to participate in the greater story God is telling.

David didn't face Goliath because he believed in himself. He faced Goliath because he had spent years learning that God had always been faithful.

Join us as we discuss what it looks like to live from remembered faithfulness, walk courageously through life's valleys, and trust the Shepherd who has been guiding us all along.

Before David was a king, a warrior, or a worship leader, he was a shepherd in a field, largely unseen by those around him, but fully known by God.

In this episode of 100% Maybe, we kick off our 'Life of David' series and explore 1 Samuel 16:1-13 and Psalm 139.  We reflect on what it means to be intimately known by God in both the beautiful and broken parts of our lives. We discuss God's ability to see beyond outward appearances and into the heart, David's remarkable prayer, "Search me, O God," and the reality that perhaps David's defining characteristic wasn't his accomplishments, but a continual willingness to repent and return to the Lord.
