What does this life tip speak to you? I know there are the practice notes at the end of the page, but really think about the last time you had to “be right.”
Do you remember the atmosphere? What was the conversation about? Did you lose a friend? Ok, take it one step further…. Can you remember what it was all about? If the conversation slowly progressed into a heated conversation and ended up being a blow-up, who really won, and is it truly about winning?
In life, “being right” is essential, and I do believe that it has its place, but for wisdom's sake, isn't it true about being correct at the moment?
What if the energy that was spent on proving a point, was focused and harnessed to the place of being correct for both parties to salvage a friendship, relationship, or position in your career?
How many times have you heard the expression, “And the truth shall set you free?” This is a statement from the bible, but it’s not only geared towards one’s religion, it is the “truth” that you know at the moment, conversation, and about yourself that will set you free.
Please don’t misunderstand, being right isn’t being overlooked here, but as long as you know the truth, that is all that matters.
