Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches Verses 23-28 from the Eighth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. This series of talks unfolds the highest truths of Vedanta through the study of "The song of God".

🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 8, Verse 23:

यत्र काले त्वनावृत्तिमावृत्तिं चैव योगिनः ।

प्रयाता यान्ति तं कालं वक्ष्यामि भरतर्षभ ॥ 23 ॥

yatra kāle tvanāvṛttimāvṛttiṃ caiva yoginaḥ

prayātā yānti taṃ kālaṃ vakṣyāmi bharatarṣabha

🔴 Now at what time (path) departing, YOGINS go, never to return, as also to return, that time (path) , I will tell you, O Chief of Bharatas.

🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 8, Verse 24:

अग्निर्ज्योतिरहः शुक्लः षण्मासा उत्तरायणम् ।

तत्र प्रयाता गच्छन्ति ब्रह्म ब्रह्मविदो जनाः ॥24॥

agnirjyotirahaḥ śuklaḥ ṣaṇmāsā uttarāyaṇam

tatra prayātā gacchanti brahma brahmavido janāḥ

🔴 Fire, light, day-time, the bright fortnight, the six months of the northern solstice; following this path, men who know BRAHMAN go to BRAHMAN.

🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 8, Verse 25:

धूमो रात्रिस्तथा कृष्णः षण्मासा दक्षिणायनम् ।

तत्र चान्द्रमसं ज्योतिर्योगी प्राप्य निवर्तते ॥ 25 ॥

dhūmo rātristathā kṛṣṇaḥ ṣaṇmāsā dakṣiṇāyanam

tatra cāndramasaṃ jyotiryogī prāpya nivartate

🔴 Smoke, night-time, the dark fortnight, also six months of the southern solstice, attaining by these to the Moon, the lunar light, the YOGI returns.

🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 8, Verse 26:

शुक्लकृष्णे गती ह्येते जगतः शाश्वते मते ।

एकया यात्यनावृत्तिमन्ययावर्तते पुनः ॥ 26 ॥

śuklakṛṣṇe gatī hyete jagataḥ śāśvate mate

ekayā yātyanāvṛttimanyayāvartate punaḥ

🔴 The Path of Light and the Path of Darkness available for the world are verily thought to be both eternal; by the one, the Path of Light a man goes to return not; by the other, the Path of Darkness he returns again.

🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 8, Verse 27:

नैते सृती पार्थ जानन्योगी मुह्यति कश्चन ।

तस्मात्सर्वेषु कालेषु योगयुक्तो भवार्जुन ॥ 27 ॥

naite sṛtī pārtha jānanyogī muhyati kaścana

tasmātsarveṣu kāleṣu yogayukto bhavārjuna

🔴 Knowing these paths, O Partha, no YOGIN is deluded; therefore, at all times be steadfast in YOGA , O Arjuna.

🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 8, Verse 28:

वेदेषु यज्ञेषु तपःसु चैव

दानेषु यत्पुण्यफलं प्रदिष्टम् ।

अत्येति तत्सर्वमिदं विदित्वा

योगी परं स्थानमुपैति चाद्यम् ॥ 28 ॥

vedeṣu yajñeṣu tapaḥsu caiva

dāneṣu yatpuṇyaphalaṃ pradiṣṭam

atyeti tatsarvamidaṃ viditvā

yogī paraṃ sthānamupaiti cādyam

🔴 Whether fruit of merit is declared (in the scriptures) as springing up from study of the VEDAS, from performance of sacrifices, from practice of austerities, and from charity — beyond all these goes the YOGIN, who having known this (the two paths ) attains to the Supreme, Primeval (Essence) .
