The book is split into 3 volumes, the first being ‘The Nature of Action’ followed by ‘The Nature of Perception’ and finally ‘Emergent Behaviours,’ giving us a great understanding of human behaviour at its core.

He describes ‘The Control Heuristic’ as a process of taking specific actions that bring us closer to survival. However, the interesting part is that this is not in accordance with our own environment but that of our ancestors.
