On February 4, 2021, 23-year-old Sandra Birchmore was discovered dead in her apartment after Canton, MA police were called to her home to do a welfare check. Sandra had not shown up to work and her family hadn't heard from her in three days. Canton Police quickly closed Sandra's case a suicide, but something wasn't adding up. There was laundry that was in the midst of being folded, packages that had started to be unboxed and worse, Sandra was 8-10 weeks pregnant. When the Karen Read case dominated the media highlighting the corruption within the Canton, MA police department, it was only a matter of time before Sandra Birchmore's case would be reopened.
