Mitch Bass is an Iraq war veteran with a fascinating life story. This is part 1 of 2 of Mitch telling of his full life. In this episode, Mitch will talk about the impact of not knowing your biological father, spending a year in Mongolia with his family on a religious mission around 8th grade, returning to Iowa and living without his mom and step dad as they returned to Mongolia for religious missionary work, joining the army and deploying to the middle east in 2004 and returning home in 2006 to go to the University of Iowa. Mitch will tell harrowing stories about being deployed. The episode ends with the very beginning of his second deployment.
