Could you wait here?”
[00:07]
Hello everyone. How are you doing? Today’s topic is 〜shitekuremasenka (could you〜). It’s politer than “〜tekudasai”.
Repeat after me
[00:19]
1. Could your write here?
2. Could you read this?
3. Could you make a copy?
4. Could you start over again?
5. Could you buy me one for me?
6. Could you tell/teach me?
7. Could you replace it?
8. Could you call for me?
9. Could you send a mail (beforehand)?
10. Could you reserve it (beforehand)?
[02:07]
Now, change the sentence as follows.
 For example,
I want you to take a look at this.
→ Could you take a look at this?
Ready?
[02:19]
1. I want you to write here.
→ Could you please write it here?
2. I want you to read this.
→ Could you read this for me?
3. I want you to make a copy.
→ Could you make a copy for me?
 4. I want you to start over.
→ Could you please try again?
5. I want you to buy it for me.
→ Could you buy itfor me?
6. I want you to tell/teach me.
→ Could you tell/teach me?
7. I want replace it.
→ Could you replace it?
8. I want you to call for me.
→ I want you to call for me.
9. I want you to send a mail (beforehand).
→ Could you send a mail (beforehand)?
10. I want you to to make a reservation.
→ Could you make a reservation (beforehand)?
[05:31]
Next, practice a bit longer sentence. I’m going to make it longer little by little.
Ready?
Repeat after me
 [05:41]
1. Could you write down what I (should) buy at the convenience store?
2. Could you read my report by next week?
3. I need this document for the meeting, so could you make a copy for me?
4. Could you redo the materials that I’ll give to the client?
5. While you’re at it, can you buy something to drink for me?
6. If you don’t mind, could you give me your phone number?
7. The button on the jacket has been come off, so could you replace it?
8. I’ll get nervous, so could you please call for me?
9. Could you send an email (to the attendees) about the change of the online meeting?
10. That restaurant is always crowded, so could you make a reservation (beforehand)?
11. I’ll be a little late, so could you start eating first(without me)?
12. I’ll be right back, so could you wait here?
13. Could you get me coffee or something warm?
14. Could you confirm when the order will arrive?
15. I have a fever, so could you tell the boss that I will be off work.
[14:41]
A more polite way of saying “〜te kuremasenka” is “〜te itadakemasenka”. When asking your boss or superiors for something, it’s better to use “te itadakemasenka”
