#14 Don't Jealous Me: Published in 4 Weeks (Tolulope Ogunmefun)

Listen Later

Key takeaways from the episode are how to get published in 4 weeks. Creating viral content and why it’s essential for you to create content that feels natural and fluent to you. Being consistent and knowing how to evolve.

Tolulope Ogunmefun is known all over the world by his online social media name “Don’t Jealous Me”. He launched his YouTube channel in 2008, and it has been viewed over 41 million times. He has been entertaining fans, both young and old, with hilarious comedy sketches and vlogs. However, the YouTube popularity became challenging on a personal level as he became known as just being Don't Jealous Me when in fact he had so much more to offer.
He tried to get into acting but was getting turned down regularly audition after audition which led to him having to take time out to find himself. He stopped posting as regularly on Youtube and decided to work on his real dream of acting. The hustle finally paid off and led to him getting a significant role in popular Sky One sitcom Sick Note and an upcoming BBC 3 series called Man Like Mobeen. After the life challenges and subsequent breakthroughs, Tolu decided to develop a new inspirational project.

To find out more about Tolulope’s work you can follow him on Twitter and Instagram @dontjealousme. Get a copy of The Frog and his Dancing Shoes on djmbooks.com. The book is an inspirational tale of friendship and jealousy. Again If you haven’t checked out episode 13 yet I highly recommend it, we cover his online controversy, big breaks and rebranding.

Next week I’m joined by brand and marketing expert Prisca Moyesa, if you’re listening in real-time, please do get your career questions or concerns submitted before Saturday. To send your questions wannabepodcast.com and hit Ask Prisca or email [email protected].
