Professor Kennedy shared his thoughts on why, although he supported affirmative action, he is skeptical of DEI policies. He also explained why, in many ways, the Black Lives Matter movement has been harmful to Black Americans. He spoke about the importance of striving for a colorblind society and his disappointment that we are not focusing on achieving it. He also discussed his reasons for opposing the removal of former Harvard President Claudine Gay.
