This is the second part of a 2 part series. He said he was a screen actor, a film director, an art connoisseur, a physicist, a seafaring captain, a financier, and a member of the English aristocracy. The truth was, he was none of those things, with possibly the exception of an actor. In a sense, that is what he spent nearly his entire adult life doing - acting. But it wasn’t ever for film or for television. No, it wasn’t that kind of acting. The kind of acting this man was somewhat masterful at has another name - imposter. He lived an inauthentic life as a pretender, a charlatan, a grifter. He was drawn to all the finer things in life, the high society, money, wealth, status...the more bombastic, the better. But he would not be made to earn it on his own. He jumped from country to country, state to state, city to city and name to name in order to con, deceive, cheat, and double-cross anybody taken by his charm.
