It was whilst working with a particular professor of dermatology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2003 which sparked Shyamalar’s interest in dermatology.

Since that time, Shyamalar has strived to place herself at the cutting edge of her specialism. Her interest lies in not just fixing the skin but enhancing it - going beyond a purely pharmaceutical approach, Shyamalar seeks to utilise the entire gamut of options to improve skin health including laser treatment and light therapy.

She has received the highest accolades for her research and publications which feature in specialist peer-reviewed journals. Having worked in Melbourne, London and New York, Shyamalar has developed a breadth of expertise.

Today, Dr Shyamalar shares with us her love and passion for skin, why she has adapted her own approach to treating, and also shares with us some insights into treating some of our industry’s most persistent skin conditions as a dermatologist.
