In this first TAXpod episode of our new "international series" (english), we discuss issues around customs in the era Trump with U.S. customs experts from the customs boutique Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg (STR). With us are Charles "Chuck" Crowley and Mark Segrist, who give a short and precise introduction to the topic and more importantly explain how small adjustments can be made to alleviate the customs situation in particular for German clients. We touch the origin and classification of goods, the "first sale" principle to reduce the customs value as well as the interaction of transfer prices and customs (in particular in the situation of transfer pricing adjustments).
