The 90s saw the rise of numerous subgenres within alternative music, including grunge, Britpop, Indie rock and more. The popularity in the early 90s of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and others opened the door for alternative music to become a more mainstream genre in the industry. This allowed artists and bands that were reserved to indie labels to be discovered by major record companies and release albums and songs that are still highly regarded today. On this week’s episode, Rob and Dave are joined by some special guests to look at the Billboard Alternative Airplay charts, and talk about some of the great music that was popular during the 90s.
