We continue our 'The Year In Heavy" series as move further into the 90s ... not a great decade for the fortunes of heavy metal.

As can be dscerned through this list, 1994 was heavily weighted on the extreme metal side with respect to highlight records as black/death/thrash metal tracks dominate this list. However, trad metal, melodic punk and (gasp!) power pop make the grade as well.
