2 Sober Chicks

What's in it for me? When we first come in to AA there is a lot of mistrust. So naturally our first thought and question is "What's in it for the Sponsor?". The answer can be found in the Chapter "Working with Others" in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. Today on the show we just flipped to a random page and this is where the discussion took us.

Lisa and Julie are just 2 sober chicks who sit down and talk recovery, AA, the 12 steps, sponsorship, and how it works for them. Their main purpose in doing this podcast is simply to carry the message of sobriety and recovery and to bring a little hope into the lives of the still suffering alcoholic. They try to live the AA Responsibility Declaration - I Am Responsible - When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of A.A. always to be there. And for that, I am responsible.

Julie talks about how "going through the Big Book" is not as daunting as it sounds.

Julie found prayers for each step! In recovery we are familiar with the 3rd, 7th and 11th but who knew there are a multitude of prayers for the other steps?

Julie talks with her sponsor about the power of forgiveness and other spiritual recovery gems.

It's been a while! Julie has held down the fort on her own with daily shotglasses while I've been studying for a new career. But I had a few minutes after meditation today and I was so inspired I thought I'm just going to throw that microphone on and share with you my thoughts on what I just experienced.
