Case against turf harvesters thrown out.

News In Galway Circuit Criminal Court, the case against two men regarding the removal of turf on conservation bogs nine years ago was thrown out.

The court was told that the State does not intend to continue with the case against Patrick Lavin of Mullán, Dungar, Co Roscommon, and Thomas Ward of Gort an Sléibhe, Ballyclare, Co Galway.

When they were first brought before court in 2015, they pleaded not guilty to the charges.
