The Government has confirmed that the limits and other restrictions that were added to salaries and bonuses in the country's banks during the financial crisis over ten years ago will be eased.

Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe presented the proposal to the Government today.

As a result of the decision to accept the proposal, banks will now be allowed to pay bonuses of up to €20,000 to their employees.
