DebtBusters 2023 Debt Index for the fourth quarter has revealed that last year was among the most financially difficult for South African consumers. Among the factors contributing to the challenges is high interest rates, inflation and  poor economic performance which negatively impacted disposable income. The report coincides with National Debt Awareness Month with the focus on financial sustainability,  to acknowledge the pro-active steps South Africans have taken to put themselves on a better financial path.
