The housing crisis "continues to escalate" said the Taoiseach.
An ghéarchéim tithíochta "ar aghaidh bhisigh" arsa an Taoiseach.
The Taoiseach has said that he believes that the housing crisis is on the brink of collapse and that house prices are easing or falling.
Tá sé ráite ag an Taoiseach go gcreideann sé go bhfuil an ghéarchéim tithíochta ar thairseach an bhisigh agus go bhfuil praghasanna tithe toisithe ag maolú nó ag titim.
Leo Varadkar told RTÉ's This Week program that the impact of Government policy is leaving its mark on the housing shortage.
Dúirt Leo Varadkar leis an chlár This Week ar RTÉ go bhfuil tionchar bheartais an Rialtais ag fágáil a lorg ar an ghanntanas tithíochta.
He would be "very worried", he said, if he were a first-time buyer himself and if a new government came to power or what would happen if a government under Sinn Féin or the left wing was put in power which would "end that support that has been placed on we get people."
Bheadh "imní mhór" air a dúirt sé, dá mba cheannaitheoir céaduaire é féin agus dá dtiocfadh rialtas nua i gceannas nó méid a tharlódh dá gcuirfí rialtas faoi Shinn Féin nó faoin eite chlé i gcumhacht a "chuirfeadh deireadh leis an tacaíocht sin atá curtha ar fáil againn do dhaoine."
Regarding the underspend of €1 billion in the Housing Department between 2020 and the end of 2022, the Taoiseach said that the underspend needs to be put in the context of "the biggest ever" spending by the Housing Department.
Maidir leis an ghannchaitheamh de €1 billiún sa Roinn Tithíochta idir 2020 agus deireadh 2022, dúirt an Taoiseach gur gá an gannchaitheamh a chur i gcomhthéacs "an chaitheachais is mó ariamh" atá déanta ag an Roinn Tithíochta.
He said that there is no lack of political will in the Government in relation to spending on housing that the budget was "so big" that the Housing Department had difficulty spending it.
Dúirt sé nach bhfuil aon easpa toil pholaitiúil sa Rialtas maidir le caiteachas ar thithíocht go raibh an buiséad "chomh mór sin" go raibh deacracht ag an Roinn Tithíochta é a chaitheamh.
The Government has made changes this year, he said, which will make money not spent in one year available earlier next year to ensure that all budgets are spent in full.
Tá athruithe déanta ag an Rialtas i mbliana, a dúirt sé, a chuirfidh airgead nár caitheamh i mbliain amháin ar fáil níos luaithe an bhliain dar gceann lena chinntiú go gcaithfear gach buiséad ina iomláine.
Regarding the Government's decision to end the eviction ban, the Taoiseach said that almost half of the eviction notices are often invalid.
Maidir le cinneadh an Rialtais deireadh a chur leis an chosc díshealbhaithe, dúirt an Taoiseach gur minic go mbíonn beagnach leathchuid na bhfógraí scoir neamhbhailí.
He said it is worth remembering that houses will not be lying empty for a long time, as first-time buyers or people returning from abroad will be moving into them.
Dúirt sé gur fiú a mheabhrú nach mbeidh tithe ina luí folamh go ceann i bhfad, mar go mbeidh ceannaitheoirí céaduaire nó daoine atá ag filleadh ó thar lear ag bogadh isteach iontu.
The "vast majority" of people who have received a notice to quit from their landlord will find alternative accommodation, said Leo Varakar.
Aimseoidh "formhór mór" na ndaoine a fuair fógra scoir óna dtiarna talún, malairt lóistín, a dúirt Leo Varakar.
On another matter, the Taoiseach said that it is "a good thing" that international companies are doing business in the State but that it is vulnerable because of the proportion they pay in corporate tax.
Ar ábhar eile, dúirt an Taoiseach gur "rud maith" é go bhfuil comhlachtaí idirnáisiúnta i mbun gnó sa Stát ach go bhfuil leochaileacht ag baint leis mar gheall ar an gcoibhneas a íocann siad i gcáin chorparáideach.
