Electricity generation licenses to be awarded to four marine proposals.
Ceadúnais ginte leictreachais le bronnadh ar cheithre thogra mara.
It was announced today which companies are to be granted a license to generate electricity from the wind in the open sea.
Fógraíodh inniu cé na comhlachtaí a bhfuil ceadúnas le bronnadh orthu le leictreachas a ghiniúint ón ngaoth san fharraige amuigh.
The licenses were auctioned – the first such auction ever in the State – and EirGrid announced the winners this evening.
Cuireadh na ceadúnais ar ceant – an chéad cheant dá leithéid riamh sa Stát – agus d'fhógair EirGrid na buaiteoirí tráthnóna.
EirGrid is the State body responsible for the national transmission of electricity.
Is é EirGrid an comhlacht Stáit atá freagrach as an tarchur náisiúnta leictreachais.
A provisional announcement made today, however, and EirGrid will not officially confirm the licenses until next month.
Fógra sealadach a rinneadh inniu, ámh, agus ní dhearbhóidh EirGrid na ceadúnais go hoifigiúil go dtí an mhí seo chugainn.
All the companies that have succeeded today must also apply for planning permission.
Caithfidh na comhlachtaí ar fad ar éirigh leo inniu cur isteach ar chead pleanála freisin.
Among the proposals for which a license is to be granted, there is one called the Dublin Array which will be located in the Banks of Cise and Bray in the Irish Sea, and which has an allocation of 824 megawatts.
I measc na dtograí a bhfuil ceadúnas le tabhairt dóibh, tá ceann dá ngairtear Dublin Array a bheas suite i mBainc na Cise agus Bhré i Muir Éireann, agus a bhfuil 824 meigeavata le lamháil air.
Further south, another license is to be given to the Codling Wind Park between the Graystones and the town of Wicklow with an allocation of 1,300 megawatts - the largest of all the proposals.
Níos faide ó dheas, tá ceadúnas eile le tabhairt do lucht Codling Wind Park idir na Clocha Liatha agus baile Chill Mhantáin a bhfuil 1,300 meigeavata le lamháil dó – an méid is mó as na tograí ar fad.
A 500 megawatt license is to be awarded to the North Irish Sea Array proposal off Skerries in north Dublin, and a 400 megawatt license is to be awarded to Skerde Rocks off Iorras Aithneach in Connemara.
Tá ceadúnas 500 meigeavata le bronnadh ar thogra North Irish Sea Array amach ó na Sceirí i dtuaisceart Bhaile Átha Cliath, agus tá ceadúnas 400 meigeavata le bronnadh ar lucht Sceirde Rocks amach ó Iorras Aithneach i gConamara.
All these projects are to be undertaken by a mix of companies from different countries as well as Ireland – including France and Norway.
Is meascán de chomhlachtaí ó thíortha éagsúla chomh maith le hÉirinn atá le tabhairt faoi na tograí seo ar fad – an Fhrainc agus an Iorua ina measc.
The companies will pay an average of €86 for each megacar they are allowed.
Íocfaidh na comhlachtaí beagán le cois €86 ar an meán as gach meigeavatuair a cheadófar dóibh.
Currently, €120 is paid for each megawatt of wholesale electricity.
Faoi láthair, is €120 a íoctar as gach meigeavatuair de leictreachas mórdhíola.
It was also announced today that an annual community fund is to be established - and will be worth €24 million - as part of EirGrid's contract with the four successful proposals in the auction today.
Fógraíodh inniu freisin go bhfuil ciste pobail bliantúil le bunú – agus a mbeidh luach €24 milliún ann – mar chuid de chonradh EirGrid le lucht na gceithre thogra ar éirigh leo sa cheant inniu.
The Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications Éamon Ryan said that today's auction was extremely positive news for both energy consumers and the country as a whole.
Dúirt an tAire Comhshaoil, Aeráide agus Cumarsáide Éamon Ryan gur scéal thar a bheith dearfach a bhí sa cheant inniu do thomhaltóirí fuinnimh agus don tír trí chéile araon.
