"The hottest June on record".
"An Meitheamh ba theo riamh ar na taifid".
The Met Office has said that higher temperatures and more thunderstorms are expected due to climate change.
Tá sé ráite ag Oifig na hAimsire go bhfuil súil le teochtaí níos airde agus le tuilleadh stoirmeacha toirní, de bharr athrú aeráide.
This warning has been given, in light of preliminary results produced by the Weather Office in relation to this month which has just passed, which show that June was the hottest ever in this country since weather records began, 83 a year ago.
Tá an foláireamh seo tugtha, i bhfianaise réamhthorthaí atá curtha i dtoll a chéile ag Oifig na hAimsire maidir leis an mí seo atá díreach imithe tharainn, a léiríonn gurbh é an Meitheamh ba theo riamh sa tír seo ó cuireadh tús leis na taifid aimsire, 83 bliain ó shin.
The World Weather Organization has issued a warning that the European continent is warming twice as fast as the other continents.
Tá foláireamh eisithe ag an Eagras Aimsire Domhanda go bhfuil Mór-roinn na hEorpa ag éirí níos teo dhá oiread níos tapúla ná na hílchríocha eile.
The Weather Office says here that that impact is already being felt in Ireland.
Deir Oifig na hAimsire anseo go bhfuil an tionchar sin le brath in Éirinn cheana féin.
The average temperature in June was 16 degrees Celsius.
16 céim Celsius a bhí ann mar theocht, ar an meán, i mí an Mheithimh.
The average temperature has never been so high during June in Ireland.
Ní raibh an meán teocht riamh chomh hard sin le linn mhí an Mheithimh in Éirinn.
The highest temperature recorded so far this year - 28 C - was recorded in Carlow.
Rinneadh taifead den teocht ab airde go dtí seo i mbliana - 28 C - i gCeatharlach.
"Despite the drop in temperatures over the last few days", said climate expert, Paul Moore, from the Met Office today, "we are still of the opinion that this will prove to be the hottest June on record, when as the fixed data become available."
"In ainneoin an laghdaithe atá tagtha ar theochtaí le cúpla lá anuas", a dúirt an saineolaí aeráide, Paul Moore, ó Oifig na hAimsire inniu, "táimid fós den tuairim go léireofar gurbh í seo an Meitheamh ba theo riamh ar na taifid, nuair a bheas na sonraí seasta ar fáil."
