As we reflect on the year that was had Trade To Black and our YouTube channel has grown significantly, and we wouldn’t have done it without all of you.

Today, we're recapping the biggest moments from 2024 related to cannabis on our channel and the Trade To Black series. Let's dive in!

First thing that comes to mind is our on going coverage about rescheduling cannabis. This topic gained momentum as the DEA considered moving cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III. Various stakeholders, including policymakers, medical professionals, and industry leaders, have weighed in on the potential impact of this change on research, regulation, and commerce.

Next, we’ve featured notable guests over the past year that have included congresswoman Nancy Mace, DC trips with comments from Vice President JD Vance, along with senators Elizabeth Warren, Steve Daines, Rand Paul, and congressman Brian Mast.

In Q1, we discussed the Trulieve tax refund. Trulieve received funds after amending their state and federal tax returns, providing guidance for other MSOs on how to potentially boost their finances.

We also covered Germany's path to legalization, which took effect on April 1st, allowing possession and cultivation. This was a major milestone for the European cannabis market.

Another highlight was current Vice President Kamala Harris' roundtable discussion on cannabis rescheduling. She emphasized the need for the DEA to reschedule cannabis, a topic that remains highly debated.

Lastly, we continue to discuss the SAFE Banking Act with lobbyist Don Murphy, and its ongoing challenges in Congress. Despite bipartisan support, the bill has faced delays due to competing legislative priorities and political maneuvering.
