175 people were killed in road accidents in various parts of the State in 2024, compared to 183 the previous year, according to figures released by An Garda Síochána.

Maraíodh 175 duine i dtionóiscí bóthair in áiteanna éagsúla ar fud na Stáit in 2024, le hais 183 an bhliain roimhe sin, de réir figiúirí atá eisithe ag an nGarda Síochána.

69 of the people killed were drivers, 35 were car passengers and 38 were pedestrians.

As with two-wheeled vehicles, seventeen motorcyclists, one motorcycle passenger, eleven cyclists and four people travelling on an electric scooter were killed.
