They say "Music is Subjective", but at times, qualitative and quantitative factors DO MATTER when it comes to making and performing Music. In Hip-Hop, Competition is the blood that runs the game and makes the whole industry beat. Topics on what denotes a "Good" record. Discussions on how Playability, Accessibility, and the Artistic/Musicality of the songs/album factor in varying degrees. Queries on how much it matters if a record sells or not, and how the actual musical and sonic quality of the record factors into it. In every aspect of life, women have now been celebrated with a flourishing tie-in towards their innate beauty, strength, craftiness, and resilience, more relatively in DMV's society. Like most genres of music, Rap and Hip-Hop Music can be identified through culture and area relativity. Be it the Coastal rivalries (Eastside, Westside, Southern, ATL, etc.), or even the more recently developed personal sounds and styles in the forms of Cloud, Trap, Gangsta, etc., Hip-Hop has shown itself as one of the most diverse and rightfully celebrated forms of music. Putting a lens on the music of the DMV, the soundscape can be distinguished as a collection of Old and New School R&B and Funk, with shades of Old-School Hip-Hop, all centered around a percussion-based rhythm. Acclaimed/celebrated personalities and members of the DMV Community relative to the Broccoli City gathered for an intensive yet cordial open discussion on their experiences on how alliances/team-ups and the over-all harmonious routines and activities of their communities were made. A community isn't just solely defined as a collective of families and individuals that live within a certain demographic or area, it is much more than its connotations stand for. Join us as we dive into a candid conversation on the institution and just what it takes to save an area, in all its glorious yet raw forms. Members from the Washington DC Council and Communities join together for an intimate forum about their community. Representing this forum are panel members from the City Council, the communities themselves, and actual social workers and activists that symbolize the heart and soul of Washington. Learn as they dive into discussions and arguments on topics such as accessibility to government grants, the roles, and responsibilities of each individual within the community (from the government to the youngins themselves), the existing advocacies therein, and just what can be done to preserve and develop the community.

Sabrina Vaz-Holder is a marketing director based out of Richmond, VA. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Old Dominion University and had her own college radio show. Sabrina began in the music industry in 2009 by running her own music website and doing video/photography work.
