25 years ago today Patrick Roy unceremoniously played his last game in Montreal, setting the stage for his move to Colorado.
After giving up nine goals on 26 shots against the Detroit Red Wings, Patrick Roy was finally pulled in the second period and upon exiting the ice told Montreal president he was done playing for his team. Four days later he was traded to Colorado. I take a look back at that game and what got the ball rolling for an eventual trade to the Avalanche, changing the Avs franchise forever.
