We watched The Dilemma and it might just be the most forgettable movie we've seen so far in this journey. It was so "meh" that instead we talked about other podcasts we like, and Bigfoot Pirate Ghost erotica for most of the episode.
This double feature quickly turned into a triple feature. First, we watched Honey, which was not exactly our kind of film. Then we talked about the best horror movie we've ever seen, which is Midsommar, in theaters right now. Don't worry, we kept that one spoiler-free. To top it off, we watched one of the best movies in our entire collection, Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
Guess what? We watched another polished turd... I mean, wide release terrible movie. Legally Blonde 2 delivers a heaping helping of awful acting and poor plot development. But this gave Darcy time to come up with a fan theory that's more interesting than the movie itself. Is it still called a fan theory if you're not actually a fan of the movie?
This week's double feature brought out all the emotions - we laughed, we cried, and Jen got furious. First up was Because of Winn-Dixie, and the second film was The Social Network. We also plug our favourite Canadian series, Letterkenny. Especially watch Letterkenny if you plan on watching (or have seen) The Social Network.
At the request of a new friend and listener, we watched Malibu's Most Wanted. Unsurprisingly, Jen hadn't seen it before, and she was done with it by the time it had played the first 10 minutes. Fortunately, fun was still had.
Jen's birthday is this weekend, so Darcy graciously let her pick the movies for today's double feature. For obvious reasons (or not), she picked Brother Bear and Drag Me to Hell. Special birthday magic ensues.
We've seen our share of dumpster fires along this journey through DVD history, but this was our first loaf of nuts. We were originally going to watch Heaven is For Real, but that disc was cracked so luck of the draw gave us Monster in Law instead. Not sure if that was really a victory, but hey I guess it's one less DVD to watch.
Listen to us rip The House Bunny to shreds, then try not to ruin the nostalgia of Disney classic, The Pagemaster.
Double Feature Saturday! And we just can't keep this train on the tracks. We recorded the first half live on Facebook and Instagram as well, after watching the first X-Men movie from 2000. Then we wrapped up the live broadcasts, watched 2005's Serenity, and came back to record the second half just for you. Send us hate if the sound quality is bad, and please accept our apologies in advance.
We found another movie that Jen has actually seen before! Ferris Bueller's Day Off still holds up, and since everybody has seen it we take some time to discuss fan theories and tangents.
