Payal is a filmmaker based in Mumbai. Her latest film ‘ A Night of Knowing Nothing’ won the prestigious ‘The Golden Eye, The Documentary Prize’ at the recent Cannes Film Festival.

She is the first Indian to receive the honour since the award’s initiation. Earlier, her short film “Afternoon Clouds” was shortlisted for the short fiction film category at the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in 2017.
