On January 26, 2015, after a heated text exchange with her boyfriend, 21 year old Texas College student and football player Carlton Champion, Jr, 24 year old Ty Underwood insisted they meet up to discuss their relationship face to face.  A few minutes after she text Carlton she arrived, she was shot to death as she sat behind the wheel of her car.  Attempting to flee, she hit a mailbox, turned around, went up onto a grassy parkway and ran into a pole.  Even then, she continued to try to escape by spinning out her tires, but she was stuck, eventually succumbing to her injuries.  The investigation soon revealed Ty was a transgender woman, but this was not a secret she kept from Carlton.  BUT, it was a secret Carlton wanted to keep from his friends and teammates.  Ty, however, wanted more, she wanted to go public and she wanted to make it social media official.  Carlton didn't want word to get out that he was in a relationship with a transgender woman, so his solution was to choose murder.
