Tom and Joe are joined by David Palmer, Founder & CEO of Bernoulli | Locke on this week’s episode. Palmer discusses his background in finance and hospitality, and how he made the transition to the forefront of decentralized, autonomous organizations (DAOs) in the blockchain world.  Palmer weighed on the increasing participation in the Web 3.0 era, where there is a trend of democratization in the world of art, finance, and sports. Drawing on his experiences in hospitality, he believes in the value of establishing communal connections through the passionate pursuit of one’s interests. Web 3.0 provides a platform that allows for greater transparency, more organic control, and ownership of the experience. The aim is to incorporate principles of Web 3.0 with existing organizations to create unique experiences for fans and members. The conversation continues with the partnership with the SailGP competitions to create the first professional sports team owned and operated by the fandom. He also discusses the ethical implications of AI-generated intellectual property and new concepts brought about by NFTs in recent years. Finally, Palmer advises on the importance of acquiring a breadth of knowledge through education, honing one’s written and communication skills, and striving to marry one’s passion with work.
