It was the last day of school for students in Phoenix, Arizona – May 17, 2001 and sisters Alissa and Sarah Turney were looking forward to their summer vacations.
Alissa, 17, had just finished her junior year at Paradise Valley High School. Sarah, who was 12 years old at the time, was finishing her last day of 7th grade. Alissa was excited for summer and planning to attend a graduation party later that evening.
Alissa never made it to that party and May 17, 2001 was the last time anyone saw her alive.
Nineteen years later, Sarah, now in her 30s, spends most of her time searching for answers about what happened to her sister and advocating for justice in her case. But the question remains, what did happen to Alissa Turney on that fateful May day?
