Paul Dobson and nondual therapist Nic Higham speak with Cormac Doherty.
A new-born baby doesn’t have a conceptual framework. There's no instruction manual! We're literally informed. We get a kind of ‘backstory’. “I am a human being. This is a world of space and time.” It's not that there's anything wrong with these ideas per se, it's just that they're myopic and limiting and we can start to feel trapped. At some point, we may be motivated to begin questioning. Something maybe destabilises our knowledge. At that point, we move out of a very heavily invested set of beliefs into a position of unknowing. We see that any belief system is purely speculative. We drop all the beliefs, all the labels, all the ideas, and we're right back here, where we've always been! Reality is everything and anything and expresses as everything and anything. You can't explain Reality; you can't capture it. And yet, there is the absolute richness of it in the immediacy of its happening. It's so simple because it's just the fact of experiencing. It’s simply about being with This as it actually is.
