People like Genny Hyde are truly a blessing in the mental health world! Genny is a wife, mother, blogger and mental health advocate (and a true warrior) who gives us an open look at her life of living with Bipolar II Disorder. Bipolar Disorder is a highly stigmatized mental illness that can be hard to truly understand but Genny explains so well what the struggle can really look like. She discusses her experience with being hospitalized, shares about the safety plan, and how she has found a passion for spreading awareness on these topics all while fighting daily for the well-being of herself and her family. We as therapists have been treating people who have Bipolar Disorder for years but Genny truly clarified things for us as well and we did not make it through listening to her speak without shedding some tears and feeling very uplifted.
