As the AOSA president at The Ohio State University College of Optometry, Maggie Dunn has worked alongside members of the Ohio Optometric Society to advocate for the profession. She discusses her passion for scope expansion and meeting with legislators to educate them on all that optometry students are learning and what optometrists are doing in practice. Her philosophy for speaking to elected officials is: “Speak from the heart and speak the truth.” Maggie shares her thoughts on how she and her cohorts feel about entering school during the pandemic, private practice, practice ownership, private equity, board scores, and more.
