Dr. Emily Wilson is a pelvic floor physical therapist and the founder of Pelvic Wisdom in Portland, Maine. She specializes in prenatal and postnatal psychology, spiritual trauma, and birth healing. Her passion is in helping women heal from the "taboo" conditions associated with the pelvic floor that our culture doesn't like to talk about.
This episode is packed with pelvic wisdom! Yes, we talk about incontinence, strengthening AND softening the pelvic floor, and how we can reclaim our pleasure (and maybe spend less time on the toilet). And we go deeper. We talk about cyclical patterns of birthing, birth stories and trauma, and cellular memories.
Emily explains beautifully how we can reframe our birth stories to take our power back.
Emily says, if you heal the matriarch in the family, you heal the family. The mother's nervous system is mirrored by the children, so it is important for mother's to take the time to nurture themselves and consider healing pelvic tension and birth traumas.
In this episode, I share about my own birth traumas, intimacy issues, and energy blocks. Did you know our uterus is our second heart and that C section scars and abdominal numbness could cause blockages that effect intimacy? I need to get that energy flowing again! Thank goodness I have Dr. Emily Wilson as my pelvic floor physical therapist...and now you can, too!
