We are back! Thank you all for joining us again. This week we have a lot to say. We have some making/catching up to do.  I offer no explanation for our lack of podcasting the last two weeks. We're back and happy to be back. So let's get into it! We start the show off with some pain that I've been dealing  with the last couple weeks. Cathy knows how I don't like pain so this conversation gets interesting.

Next up, we try to catch up on the Titanic Exploration Sub. Our Cousin and show listener knows I have an opinion on this disaster so here it goes.  I think "rich people" can find a better way to waste money beside risking their live and leaving us common folk to clean up their mess. There are tons of people without the basic needs that could use that money. We need to stop all these "Rich guy" exploration and trips to the edge of space, right now!

There has been another shake-up in the Supreme Court. Our Conservative six have once again taken our country backwards after a lot of years by ending Affirmative Action. My personal opinion is that it's a horrible idea to end it. It really did help otherwise, the poor and underprivileged make a better life for themselves and their families. Some people are looking at this in a totally different way and I get that. Also affected by this is President Bidens College Debt Cancellation, The Religion, Free Speech and Gay Rights, which was cancelled based off of a false and untrue story.  I think this is opening the door to trouble. 

Cathy wants to know how old I was when I got my 1st job and what it was. She also wants to know my favorite job as an adult and what would have been my job of choice as an adult. She always made here 1st jobs seem so easy compared to my 1st jobs. I hated mine and I think she liked hers. 

There is one more day of Amazon Prime Days. Run out there and get those deals. The mention of Amazon Prime Days was not a paid advertisement. I just love Amazon. 

What do you guys think of the "new shiny object" that is Threads? So far I like it and Cathy has not tried it. I thin kit will be around for a longtime to come with over 100 million signed up in the first few days.  Can this really be "The Twitter Killer" ? I guess we will have to wait and see but so far its going pretty well. 

Last thing is important to me but not so much for Cathy, Microsoft has been given permission to buy Activision/Blizzard for $68billion. The deal has to go through the appeals process 1st but it may be a done deal still.

Welcome to another Episode of 50Talk. This week we bring to you the magic show number 78. How do I know that? I had to go to Spotify to make sure I was giving you all the right episode number.  I've been having an issue remembering where we are at but it's all god now. 

This week Cathy and I have some pretty interesting topics to talk about so lets get into the conversations. Our 1st topic is about Father's Day and what a great day t was for me. Cathy never disappoints when it comes to celebrating and she didn't this Father's Day. She planned a big breakfast for me and all the boys came over and my grandson and we had a great time. My Grandson even gave his Dad his present while they were over as well and it had my boy crying.  I just love being around my boyz not just for holidays but all the time. They make me so proud, hell I even think they like me sometime. 

This weekend was a weekend of celebration for the Johnson's. With Juneteenth being recognized for the 2nd time federally it was a great time for Cathy and I to get some history on the City of Oberlin and what part it played during slavery. We have lived in Lorain County for over 25 years and it was our 1st time dong the tour. We learned so much and are looking forward to the follow up tour in August, 

What really is a salad? We get into a thought provoking conversation on that question. It definitely makes you think. Is it the lettuce/greens or is it the dressing?  Hopefully you can let us know. Send your answer to our 50Talk email at [email protected]

Next up it's time to grab a towel because the show is about to get hot. Which way do you prefer to have sex/make love? Do you do "it" under the sheets or on top of the sheets? Their are so many reasons to do it one way or the other but we are gonna let you guys know the best way. 

The Minneapolis Police Department had been investigated by the Department of Justice for the last couple of years and they are finally done. Listen to what the findings are and what we think they need to do to change the culture there. We don't have all the answers but we try. 

We can't go an episode with out talking Politics and a few of our Republican Presidential Candidates have given me a lot to talk about and that talking got me all hot and bothered. Maybe it's my passion again but what in the hell is going on with these guys?

Good morning and welcome back to 50Talk. We are glad you all chose to be with us again. It seems like we haven't done this in a longtime. So lets get the conversation going. This week Cathy and I are here to talk about a few things. 

Our first topic of the day is a question. “When (or do you) feel uncomfortable when you are invited or go somewhere? When you're at someone's house with all their people and you just don’t feel comfortable. It's that time of year when people are having outside get togethers for graduation and picnics. Plus we have just gotten out of a pandemic. Enjoy this conversation. 

Cathy wants to know, are you approachable? When you and your partner have opposing opinions on people, friends and family.  She gives some tips on how to be more approachable. (some that I think are bullshit)

Next up we talk about Loving our House after living there for 25 years. How are we still loving it and what have we done or what can we do to continue to love it. We have made a lot of changes to the house over the years but there are things that need upgrades or repairs but all in all we love this place. 

Next Victor is ready to get you all amped up with a coffee filled, passion filled rant about all this stuff going on with Donald Trump and this Indictment coming up on Tuesday. We talk about how this happened and how we need to update our politics and the way we politic. This system and what some people are getting away with needs to be fixed. 

Sitting Politicians should not be praising anyone for what is so obviously breaking the law. If  "If no one man is above the Law" then these politicians need to be replaced from there positions if they feel that way. Like I always say, "we need to update the Constitution, The Bill of Rights, the Bible and whatever people follow by written word. I'm sorry/not sorry for feeling this way. 

Finally we talk about what I'm calling "The New Trend" for the spring and into the summer with all these random shootings. With people being shot behind closed doors and the shooter saying "the felt like their life was in danger" or the Castle Doctrine. I call bullshit on all that. We hope you all enjoy the conversation.

Welcome back to 50Talk. This week we bring you Episode 76 and after being off for a while we have a lot to talk about. So last week was Mother's Day weekend and we got busy with family and also this past weekend we had some family stuff to do as well. We took a large group of family to the Toledo Zoo and we had a great time.  A lot has been going on since last we've talked but we will try to fit in as much as possible. We have opinions on some stuff as usual. 

To start the show off we start with some news out of Mississippi and The NAACP  putting out a travel advisory to Florida in light of recent activities done with the Government of Florida.  We give our thoughts and opinions on what this means or how we interpret it.  I've always had a sour feeling about Florida & Texas for years but I have family in both. 

With TikTok on the verge of being banned in the entire country and already in Montana Cathy and I ask " Do 13 year old's need training on Social Media before they enter that world?" This is a touchy subject for me and I tried to give examples from a parents perspective and a Childs perspective. By no means do I think the government need to tell Parents how to parent their own kids. I respect that others may feel different than me and that's cool. 

We missed another Mass Shooting in Allen, Texas last week while we were off. It was a shooting that took place in an Outlet Mall where I believe 7 people were killed. We talk about this issue with guns and all the loosening of gun laws around the country. We also mention a couple statistics about those states that are loosening and a few that have stricter gun laws. 

On Sunday evening CNN aired Uvalde: Inside a School Shooting.  We give our opinion on the show and the affects the families are having from the shooting. We are both confused on why these families still aren't getting the answers they deserve.  Why has no one been held responsible for the Police response of over three hundred police officers who stood around in the hall while children got massacred?  One year later, if you haven't seen this show you need to. 

Last but not least we get into some couples questions and also some "thought Provoking Questions for Couples". We hope you enjoy the show and we will see you all later this week. (Hopefully)

Oh yeah, I did mention at the end of the show that this was Episode 75 but it really is Episode 76. We are getting closer to 100.....Yeah Us!

Good evening and welcome back to another episode of 50Talk. This week  your host are not very prepared. We have things to talk about but just not in the regular outline form that Victor likes.  1st on the agenda today is the Documentary 1000% Me: Growing up Mixed by W Kamau Bell. We learned about this new show Friday  while watching CNN in the morning. I love W Kamau Bells CNN show so everything he does I try to watch. I thin I learned from the show from the kids he interviewed that our future will be in good hands. Once we get past everything we have to deal with today our kids will give us a bright future. So please if you have time take a look at 1000% Me: Growing up Mixed.

We through out some statistics on gun violence from the Gun Violence Archive website. Since May 5 there have been 8 mass shootings around the country.  We can't keep sitting back and believe this is the "new normal". We have to have change in this country with our gun laws. Some states are doing the right thing by banning the purchase of assault weapons. The entire country needs to get on the same page. 

History was made on Saturday in England with the Coronation of King Charles. There hadn't been a coronation for 70years since Queen Elizabeth became Queen when she was really young. So if your into history and all thing Royal yesterday was a good day for you. I think Prince William told his Dad to "not get to comfortable in that chair" he's coming for that spot ASAP.

This week is both of our Birthday week and I will be turning 55 so I have a couple of thoughts about turning 55.  I guess I am officially a Senior Citizen now. AARP here I come.  So far I don't feel like a Senior Citizen, but my body hurts and things aren't working like they used to but I feel mostly good. We both plan on enjoying our Birthday week. 

Last topic for this episode is about the killing of Jordan Neely in New York City on the subway by a Marine Corps Veteran. Neely was a 30 year old homeless kid who was having a mental breakdown and was restrained for 15 minutes in a chokehold. I felt a little different about the story initially until I found out more about the situation. This kid needed help and not "murdered". We have to stop this vigilantism before it gets out of control. We're not even at summer yet and things aren't looking good.

Welcome back to 50Talk. This is Episode 74 and we are glad to be back with you guys after another week off. We know you guys needed a break from us so you got it. We do want to start off by thanking our guest from last episode, our Aunt Thelma the author of the book Understandin Better, By and By. Thank you for joining us. 

We start this weeks episode off with some talk about the Mandalorian Season Three. It was great but I am so sad to see it end. Just when it was starting to get good it ended. I love Disney but they seem to do this a lot with there shows. They stick with 6-8 episodes and right when they start getting good they end and we as customers end up having to wait a year to a year and a half for the next season.  That sucks for me but I love the show so much I'll be waiting patiently. 

Cathy and I received a gift from our nephew Jason and his Father at The Glass Guys in Sandusky, Ohio (419)625-2500. It is a beautiful glass mirror that lights up with the 50Talk emblem on it. Thank you both the the gift and we want everyone to look up The Glass Guys on the internet and check out there stuff.  If I could give all our listeners this item I would, that's just how cool it it. Next we talk about all these "random shooting" that have been happening around our great country. Is this what the summer of 2023 is gonna be like? Is this the new George Floyd of 2023? This is already getting out of control and we Need Gun Control! Thank you Washington State for being the 10th State to make AR15's illegal to purchase. No one not in the military needs this weapon. I agree with "Your Rights to bear Arms' but not AR15's. I'm sorry if that makes you mad but the Constitution needs an Update. 

Cathy gives us all a thought provoking situation, that personally gave me the chill. On the show and when she introduced the segment to me before the show.  When do black and brown skin become a threat to You? Welcome back to 50Talk, this is Episode 73 and this week Cathy and I are proud to introduce to you guys our Aunt Thelma Craig. She is the author of the book "Understandin Better, By and By.  We dedicate the entire episode talking with her and learning about the woman who inspired her in her life and some of the reasons and stories why they did. 

I was able to finish when it was first released almost two years ago but Cathy just finished it this week so I'm gonna follow her lead in the conversation because it is still fresh in her head.  Thelma tells everyone a little bit about herself and how this became her first book, or the inspiration behind the book.  We ask her what led her to writing the book and where the quote "Understandin Better, By and By came from. 

Cathy and I talked about what we liked the best about the book, with it being a quick and easy read and the growth we seen in the book from each chapters representative.  With some chapters being shorter than others we ask if there was any less of an impact from that person. 

We mention to Thelma about being raised in the South and the impact that had on her view of white people.  Her raising her kids and having them in a mostly white school and area. We ask her about any feedback she has received on the book from the woman listed in the book. 

Cathy feels a special way about all of the poems at the ends of each chapter and we all hope you feel the same way. The book made this Marine cry and smile all at the same time. It really is a feel good book about a young lady from Florida and all the positive influences in her life and how all these woman are playing a role in her life to this day.

Welcome back to 50Talk. This is Episode 72 and it is Easter Sunday for most of you. Or maybe you are waiting for Monday to listen to this episode. We thank you either way for joining us. With it being Easter Cathy and I decided to shorten the show a little bit. We only had a few things to discuss this week so we're going to get into it. 

Our first topic this week is something Cathy has brought to the table and Easter couldn't be a better day for it. It the talk about the classic easter candy Peep's. I know as a kid I loved them but not to much as an adult. The whole diabetes thing can change you and your eating habits a bit. Cathy gives us some facts on Peep's and a little history on them as well. 

Next up we get into the "Talk of the Week" the Woman's NCAA Finals game with LSU vs Iowa and the controversy over Caitlyn Clark and Angel Reese. If your listening I'm sure you've all heard about this but we both give our opinions on the situation.   I don't think there is room in sports for this behavior at any level but I'm just an old school guy. 

Next up we talk about Anheuser Busch and Bud Light and the backlash they are getting concerning the TikTok viral video from Dylan Mulvaney and her first 365 days as a female project. All the Republican folks got themselves into a tizzy over some nonsense.  Also on the chopping block for these same folk concerning a Jack Daniel's Add from 2021 with a few Drag Queens on the Add. 

Believe it or not this is what our politicians and people want to focus on in this country today. We have children getting gunned down in schools weekly and White Nationalism doing its best to ravage our political system but everyone is concerned about this bullshit.

Welcome back to 50Talk. We are so glad that you guys are taking time out of your day to listen to the show. This weeks "passion filled" show starts with the crew thanking everyone for joining us in Episode 70 and our Monthly Live show. We had a great turnout and we really do appreciate everyone who showed up and offered questions and comments. We both look forward to our next live show in April. 

Next up we discuss a situation we had at breakfast on Sunday morning. We would like to think we have at least one new listener after this encounter. Cathy is not shy to spread the word to everyone about 50Talk and what the show offers everyone.  We didn't get the names of the people we talked to but if they are listening, welcome to 50Talk. 

So get ready for some "passionate" conversation for a while. There was another school shooting last week in Nashville, Tennessee. Two brave police officers went in and put the shooter down in 14 minutes after the initial call. This is what I call Taking their Oath of Office seriously. Please honor these two Police Officers  and the City of Nashville Police Department.  I add some really thought provoking statistics on shootings so far this year. 

Patriotism is next on the agenda and I ask Cathy if it's important today.  What makes you a true Patriot today? I believe that there is so much "Fake Patriotism" today that it's hard to say. We have our Former President saying the Rioters of the January 6th attack are true patriots. I call nonsense on the BS. Does saying the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance in schools and sporting events make you a Patriot? Can you teach Patriotism to people or does it just happen? 

We can't have an episode without some Political talk so this week we talk about the Indictment (or upcoming) of President Donald Trump. Why is the "An Outrage, An Abuse of Power, a Witch Hunt or even Election Interference? Like I said this episode is filled with some passion and you guys are gonna feel my passion all through it. 

Finally we end the show with a Local story about a Bus driver who had a viral video show up. She is literally going off on the kids on the bus. Look for the video on YouTube. You will be shocked. She was definitely having a bad day.

Welcome back to 50Talk this week and our monthly Facebook Live & Zoom live show. We thank you all for joining us again. So, like I said this is our Live show and this month we open the air-waves up to your questions and comments. We know that you guys have been chomping at the bit to hit us with all your questions for awhile so lets go! Cathy and I start the show of with a couple of text messages that we got from our good friend and former guest Marc.  We have a topic of conversation from the week of current events so before that Cathy gets right into other question's that are coming in from the Facebook Live chat. 

We do appreciate all of you guys joining us on this live show for the Month of March.  
* We talk about Tic Tok and how Congress brought in the CEO to just blast him about all kinds of things that are going on with the application. I would say to everyone using Tic Tok to enjoy it while you can. All these Congress men and woman we're asking him questions but not really giving him an opportunity to answer. It seems like there agenda was to put the questions out there to him but not give him a chance to fully answer. 

What is it that China is looking to get from the users of this application? I don't fully get it but hopefully we can find out what's going on.  Enjoy all the questions and comments from all who joined and we will see you all next week.
