Katrina Michelle PhD, LCSW is the founder and director of The Curious Spirit, a New York-based psychotherapy and coaching practice offering personal transformational work and retreats.

As co-creator and producer of When Lightning Strikes Film she is seeking to demystify, the sometimes unsexy, process of spiritual emergence.

Katrina is also a member of the Emergent Phenomenology Research Consortium (EPRC), currently conducting research seeking to better understand adverse psychedelic experiences.

In this episode, Katrina and Jonathan Schecter discuss transpersonal experiences - specifically taking an informal case study on some of Jonathan’s experiences. This included sharing some of Jonathan’s experiences with Buddhism, as well as some of his experiences working with ayahuasca and sacred mushrooms.

Through all of this Katrina holds compassionate space and the conversation ends with a discussion on the importance of community in integrating our medicine experiences that are realer than real and the ways that they continue to unfold and entwine in our lives.
