A lot of times, lawyers will see a report from the opposing side and immediately think, ‘This hurts my case.’ But it you look at it and understand the parameters of that report, it may be neutral. You can save yourself a lot of stress and time if you understand how that evidence plays in with your bigger case. It may help your case, and you may look at the report and say, ‘You know what? This actually supports my theory.’ So, the more you [learn about and question forensic evidence], the more you get comfortable with saying, ‘I don’t have an objection to this report from the other side.
