Deconstructive Criticism talk with Christina Hoff Summers. She is an American author, philosopher, and feminist who have written extensively about the damage caused to the feminist cause by socialist feminists. She is an author of several books on the subject. Among them Who Stole Feminism? (1994) and The War Against Boys (2000),I contacted Christina because I wanted to know what she knows about the Swedish feminist Yvonne Hirdman – who is responsible for introducing what you might call the theory of the Patriarchy – or to do a literal translation from the original swedish – the gender system – which introduces the Marxist idea of sex as class to Swedish Academia and later government policy. Or if she knows of any other exchange between American and Swedish socialist feminists. Which is a bit unfair because Christina is interesting in her own right. She is a contributor to among other publications the Atlantic, and has already been derided in certain parts of the swedish media, for an article she had written there which mentioned sweden. Of course they criticized it in Swedish so there is no way that Christina would be able to know about it or reply.
