The Duke Blue Devils won their game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish yesterday in a game that got close at the end. However, Cooper Flagg’s record 42 points was the difference, and we recap it all on Episode 681.
Cooper Flagg’s 42 points was an ACC freshman record, the most points for Duke in over 35 years, and was incredible to watch. But, Notre Dame made it a test at the end, and Jason and Donald begin by discussing that test that the Blue Devils received. They then get into the headlines and all the good from the game, including Khaman Maluach’s career day. Cooper Flagg’s stat line is nothing short of mesmerizing, and there were other things that Duke did successfully on the afternoon.
After the break, we focus on what was not successful for Duke, from our defense late in the game to the bench production. Maliq Brown leaving the game after a minute due to injury is very concerning, and we hope that it’s not too serious. But, Duke got a bit of a pop quiz from the Fighting Irish, and while it wasn’t perfect, they were able to pass it and remain undefeated in the ACC. We of course end with our Play of the Game and our Player of the Week, which should come as no surprise.
