  • Damian Collins - 20 per cent rent increase
    The ban on rental increases ends on March 28, 2021 and REIWA is warning renters that we could see a jump of up to 20 per cent. 
    "The market would suggest that's what the rent should be, but I'm sure many property owners not want to put their tenants at a huge disadvantage in such a short time," REIWA President Damian Collins told 6PR Breakfast.

  • Matt Hill - Melbourne Cup race caller
    The race that stops the nation will be run tomorrow and race caller Matt Hill is doing his final preparations.
    "I reckon this year's is just about the strongest Melbourne Cup we've seen, it's really tough," Hill told 6PR Breakfast.
    Flemington will look different this year with crowds banned due to Coronavirus restrictions, Hill says he will miss the buzz of the crowd. 
    "This year has been completely shattered obviously, but the two ways I'm looking at it; yes, it's different and it's weird, the only think I can actually hear is the helicopter over the race course the whole day," Hill said. 
    "But then at the same time being the Melbourne Cup... it's going to stop the nation like no other this year.
    "It means so much to our country and boy, we need just a little bit of entertainment for this year."
    Millsy has tipped #15 Russian Camelot. 
    Baz has tipped #16 Steel Prince.

    Each Friday Steve and Baz speak with Inspector Geoff DeSanges, who has been in the force for decades, in the 6PR Breakfast Police Report.
    An out of control house fire ripped through a home on Hemingway Drive in Camillo.
    upto 10 Fire and Emergency crews battled the fire for about 30 minutes.
    A women was located in distress at the back garden on the house, it was confirmed no other person was at home at the time.
    An officer stopped at the scene while attending to another job, saw the house fire and requested help immediately.

    An Adelaide specialist is developing an app that can help people suffering with tinnitus. 
    Dr John-Charles Hodges is an ear, nose and throat specialist is conducting research on the app and is asking for volunteers to help. 
    Dr Hodges told 6PR Breakfast 20 per cent of the adult Australian population suffer with tinnitus and explained how they're working on a treatment.
