He was born with half of a functioning heart and not expected to survive.  He has had 28 surgeries (including a heart transplant in 2009), several near death experiences, numerous life altering losses AND victories.  Faith in Jesus Christ was a critical piece of enduring/overcoming pain and suffering, and also divinely led him to his musical gifting that is now touching the hearts and souls of BILLIONS.
